The ranges of tiles inspired by the colour and texture of the brick have been popular for years. One of the reasons for their popularity are the many possibilities of their application. However, in order to achieve the best possible effect, it is necessary not only to install, but also grout them properly. A convenient alternative is a decorative brick-like tile with a ready-made grout. Brick-like tiles are installed on the wall in the same way as all other decorative concrete and gypsum tiles. Therefore, you should start off by cleaning, levelling, and, preferably, priming the wall surface. It is important not to level your walls with an adhesive. To estimate how many tiles will be needed for the job, you can use a special calculator located next to the description of each Incana product range. In case of unforeseen losses during work, it is worth buying about 10% more material.
Incana also offers products with grout that are even easier to install. These tiles are larger than individual elements (20.5 cm wide and 7 cm high), which also speeds up the bonding process. The Incana tiles with a ready-made grout include: – Milano (two colour versions: dark Volcano and red Loft), – Amsterdam Natural (colour-neutral, with lighter and darker discolouration’s), – Mattone Bianco (imitation of the timeless brick with a ready-made grout), – Murro Panel (white brick texture combined with delicate curves). The rules of installation and impregnation of these products are the same as for other decorative tiles. However, there is no need for additional grouting. How to install brick tiles?

However, there is no need for additional grouting.Regardless of the type of tiles, it is always best to start the installation from the bottom of the corners or the most visible spots (this way you will avoid having to make joints in particularly exposed areas). When selecting the adhesive, you must make sure that it is suitable for the type of substrate on which it is to be used. A safe and convenient solution will be the universal preparation available in Incana’s offer. Decoflex adhesive for substrates such as: – normal, lightweight, cellular concrete, – cement and lime plaster, lime plaster, gypsum plaster, – plasterboard and gypsum-fibreboard, OSB, – rigid particle boards, – ceramic tiles. It may be helpful to draw thin lines on the wall to help keep the right levels and distances. Each tile should be matted before the adhesive is applied, e.g. using a wire brush. The adhesive should be applied by means of a toothed trowel so that its layer does not exceed 5 mm. The tiles should be installed in such a way that, after precise positioning of a tile, a joint of appropriate width is formed. Only then a tile can be pressed against the substrate. In the case of bricks, it is worth remembering to arrange individual segments in a way that imitates the arrangement of bricks (i.e. not one under the other, but halfway through the length of the tile below). However, there is no need for additional grouting. The correct application of the grout will give a wall a touch of authenticity. The grout also helps to hide places with excess glue. However, grouting should not be started until all elements have been permanently installed and the adhesive has dried out. Thanks to the application of the top-quality components (such as high-quality cements, mineral powders and resins, the Incana Grout is suitable for both outdoor and indoor use, also for dry and wet rooms. It is characterized by high strength and adhesion, as well as very good operating parameters, such as scratch and crack resistance. The grout can be applied with a plastic bag, for example. Following preparation, the grout should be placed in a strong plastic bag. Next, you should cut off the tip of the bag so that the stream of extruded grout fits in the gaps between the tiles (the grout itself should be between 5 mm and 12 mm wide). Excess material must be removed from the surface of the tiles on an ongoing basis using a clean, slightly moistened sponge and a sponge pad. Do not use too much water on fresh grout. After initial hardening, the joint can be gently smoothed out with a putty knife or a finger (gloves will be required for this).
